This first edition for 2026 features a wrap of the South Coast Annual Photographic Exhibition and profiles the photographic lives of Donald Owers AM, SAPF Patron; Keith Seidel; and Peter Maystrenko, retired judge. As usual, President David Shetliffe pens “From the President’s Desk,” and the complete list of 2026 workshops is provided. Remember that these are very popular and usually book out within 48 Hours, so watch the Workshops page on the SAPF website one month before the scheduled workshop date.

This issue of Focussed has an extensive roundup of mainly regional clubs. Our wonderful, hard-working editor, Corina Gull, presents her interviews with talented photographers, including some of the winners in the 2025 Edwardstown Photography Club National and the SAPF Annual exhibition. Reports include the SAPF’s Delegates Meeting and the first Judges Forum at which our Victorian colleague, Vicki Moritz, gave an excellent presentation titled “The Art of Judging”. Finally, there is information about the 2026 SAPF Annual Exhibition and workshops scheduled for next year—lots of excellent reading for the holiday period.

David also handled much of the work and overall management of the exhibition, so we offer a heartfelt thank you to David for his indispensable contribution to the exhibition.

In “From the President’s Desk,” the lead article in this newsletter, David Shetliffe provides a summary of a very busy period for him and the Federation more broadly. In particular, David made a marathon tour of Yorke and Eyre Peninsula camera clubs. Much of this newsletter reports on that tour and demonstrates the quality of the work being produced by members of those clubs.
